Madeleine Albright, Yasser Arafat and the Wasp

This picture is from the Middle-East peace talks in 1999, and the then US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, is here seen with the late Yasser Arafat.

According to Albright's new book, the brooches she wore on her left lapel indicated the staus of negotians and her general mood towards the counterpart: "I wore wasps on tough days when I wanted to do a little stinging and deliver a tough message", she writes. Who says fashion doesn't belong in politics?
