Yeo Does Cameron, Bush and Blair

Expressive portrait artist Jonathan Yeo has tackled many a difficult subjects - his latest piece is a brown and pink floral wallpaper print - but a series of contributions with bigger impact are his takes on David Cameron, George Walker Bush and Tony Blair. 

They all come in different styles, as you can see, but it it interesting to note that the wallpaper print is done in the same way as Yeo interpreted Bush; by cutting out images from Porno Mags and collating them to the final product. BTW, his Cameron portrait recently snapped up £200,00...at a Tory fundraiser party. Go figures.

Go Home And Change, Barack!

Ahh, the obligatory baseball throw. Every American Prezzie needs to do it, as the images below show. Now it was Obama's turn and I'm afraid he didn't fare very well. How did the throw go? What do I know - I'm referring to his stone washed jeans and Nike running shoes. 

Also, I'm not sure about these jackets they started wearing a few years ago. That's all about sucking up to the electorate. No, I prefer the first pictures of JFK, Jimmy and LBJ in suits, looking dapper. At least Georgie's dad...eh...Georgie wore a shirt and tie...

It looks like he's got two balls, but we all know he only had one... (you can read that any way you like, mate...)

The most ridiculous one? The Nineties was never good for sportswear, not even on Bill Clinton...

No one seems to be looking or to be remotely interested. No I'm not talking about Carter's presidency, I'm referring to his throw....

SHOE THROWER BEATS THE BUSH

What happens when fashion hits politcs? I mean literally hits it. Well, ask George Bush who last year was attacked with a shoe while on a farewell tour of Iraq. Of course, as you know, the shoe missed him and the thrower, TV journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi, was badly beaten. He was yesterday sentenced to three years in prison. But put it in perspective - Bush is going to hell. For forever.

Anyway. The point over here on FiP is the shoe. Model 271 from Baydan Shoes in Istanbul has registred an sales increase of 500% since the incident. Owner Ramazan Baydan designed the shoe in 1999, but it didn't take off until it nearly hit Mr Bush. Now it's flying off the shelves...

"Baydan has received orders for 300,000 pairs of the shoes since the attack, more than four times the number his company sold each year since the model was introduced in 1999. The company plans to employ 100 more staff to meet demand, he said. Model 271 is exported to markets including Iraq, Iran, Syria and Egypt. Customers in Iraq ordered 120,000 pairs this week and some Iraqis offered to set up distribution companies for the shoe", said a Baydan statement.

OBAMA RELAXES WHITE HOUSE DRESS CODE

News has reached these shores about a change in White House policy. No, it's not about Guantanamo Bay or the economy, even though those were a job well done. These concern the dress code of the Oval office. Bush had strict rules - he only allowed people in with ties and suit jackets. 

There are even stories about staff having to stand in the doorway, screaming at the POTUS, because their clobber was deemed too unworthy for entry. Weird, isn't it, how he took a moral high ground on that but let his ethic compass spin freely on other issues like - oh, I don't know - torture, mass-murder and global warming.

Anyway, as this picture shows, Obama allows people to take off their jacket, loosen the tie and even role up their shirt sleeves. We salute him. Formal clothing definitely has a time and a place and the office of POTUS (yes, I've been watching too much West Wing...) should be respected (at least these days) but that doesn't mean that "business casual" can't do the job.

Also, this just in - Obama comes into work later than Bush. He likes a lie-in. Just like me.

Bush and Obama Obeys

The November election is closing in and everyone has to have their say. Mr Obey AKA shepard Fairey says it the only way he knows, which is to illustrate the Democratic nominee as our only HOPE. This while GWB, who reps the Republican party instead of McCain, is pictured as a bit of a, eh, Bad Boy.



Of course, Bush's image is a lot more interesting than Obama's. Bush in a Hitler moustache and SS hat? Brilliant. it really fits him. I wonder why?...

Johnny Borrell at the Republican party convent?

This blog doesn't really take political sides so ignore the party colours of this fashion criminal, concentrate on the hideous boots. Actually, you know what - we do take sides! He's a Republican and the photo is from their party convent. McCain and Palin are awful dressers and even worse politicians! There you go, we took a stance. Go Barack, Go Michelle!

There are so many things to say about this geezer - he's obviously from Texas, home of Dubya (stupid), Tbone steaks (fat) and the death penalty (lethal), and he is wearing cowboy boots. With the American flag on them. With his trousers tucked in to them. All of those are wrong seperately. Together it's a case for the Hague Tribunal for war and fashion crimes.

God Bless America, eh?

Body language, as well as fashion, is important. A fact that Georgie is yet to grasp. Decent suit though.
